Lib (Roasted Seeds)
Today I will present to you guys a new Arabian/Egyptian TV
snack. If you aren’t Arabian or familiar with the Arab culture, you properly won’t
know it. Today I will tell you about Lib. Lib has lots of types which each has
its own flavor and taste. Lib are simply roasted fruit seeds. Who could ever
know that seeds could be very delicious and tasty.
Lib Subar

Lib Subar is the roasted seeds of a type of melon (cantaloupe).
What people don’t know is the importance of it. It has copper, phosphorous, magnesium,
zinc and potassium. It also has a good portion of protein and fats. These fats
are good for your health. Yah it causes weight gain if you eat a lot but it doesn’t affect
your health badly.
Lib Abyad
It is a type of Lib
which got its name from its color. Abyad means white in Arabic. You can have it salty or without. It comes from pumpkins.
It has fibers, phosphorus, manganese, copper, zinc, iron, potassium, vitamin
K, carbohydrates, fats and proteins. It
helps in losing weight, strengthen the immunity system, improves the
performance of the digestive system, regulates the blood for diabetics, reduces
blood pressure and heart diseases and maintains healthy bones.
Lib Sory
Lib Sory or as it is known by Sunflower Seeds. It is widely found in Syria that’s why it’s called Lib Sory (Syrian
Lib). You can find it with salt or without salt. You can have whatever you want
according to your taste. It is known for its importance. It contains elements
such as copper, iron, phosphorus, zinc and magnesium which strengthen your body. It also has many vitamins, especially vitamin E, A and it also has
a good portion of folic acid. You can find in it many oils like omega-3. Now I will
tell you briefly its importance. It helps in losing weight, building the body strongly,
strengthen eyesight, maintaining healthy teeth and gums and preventing cavities.
Lib Batekh

Lib Batekh comes from
the watermelon seeds. They dry and roast it. They are rich in minerals and nutrients.
It contains magnesium, Carbohydrates, Calcium, phosphorous, potassium, sodium, zinc,
copper, manganese and vitamins B 1,2,3,5 and 6. That’s why it has lots of importance.
Lib khashab

Lib khashab is from the
pumpkin fruit. It contains important nutrients which are important to your body
as it comes from pumpkins. They are known for having vitamins and salts. they used to be available but I don't think you can find them now. Sadly, they tasted awesome and special.

You can find delicious roasted peanuts and more in maqala (the place where you can get Lib) not only Lib. But Coronavirus made us alert and familiar with the importance of Lib. We ate them because of their deliciousness without knowing their significance. Lib can help you in increasing your immunity system and more. So, you can enjoy their unique taste and their benefits.
